Job Title: IT Support Specialist 

Reports to:  Technology Director 

Wage/Hour Status: Non-exempt

Length of Contract: 249

 

Salary: $39,492 - $54,492

 

Primary Purpose: 

The IT Support Specialist will oversee and maintain the computer hardware and software systems throughout the El Dorado School District. In this role, they will provide technical support to staff, teachers and students by prioritizing and escalating help desk requests. In addition to troubleshooting network and hardware issues, they will configure new devices such as Windows, Mac, ChormeOS, and/or Chromebooks. 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

Education/Certification: 

  • Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree required; Information Technology, Computer Science or related field preferred
  • CompTIA A+ certification preferred 

 

Special Knowledge/Skills: 

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Exceptional organization, time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively 
  • Ability to organize information 
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; ability to lift at least 50 pounds 

 

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Assists with the setup, configuration, and installation of devices, equipment, software, printers and other peripherals 
  • Provides on-site technology support to teachers, administrators and students 
  • Document the  processes, procedures, changes, revisions and activities in the ticketing system
  • Plans and Installs of new and existing workstations for students and teacher
  • Provides superior customer service; pay attention to customer’s descriptions of computer problems, and help solve the issues, walk customers through the recommended problem-solving steps 
  • Train users to work with new computer hardware or software
  • Provide other team members and managers information 
  • Troubleshoot technological issues and solve problems quickly to ensure our business operations run smoothly
  • Perform regular maintenance for our phone systems, computer systems, computers, printers, network systems, and any other technical equipment
  • Administer new user accounts, work email addresses, and access levels to new employees to ensure they have everything they need to work efficiently

Means of transportation required to work technology tickets in all district buildings throughout El Dorado
