TITLE:                    Assistant Principal

QUALIFICATIONS:    1.  A master’s degree in school administration.

2. Minimum of three (3) years of acceptable teacher experience.
3. Ability to work with people; knowledge of good instruction program; must possess good communication skills; consistent in relationship with teachers and students.

REPORTS TO:   Principal

JOB GOAL:       To assist the principal in the direction and supervision of the various activities of the school and to perform other duties as assigned by the principal.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body, and deals with special cases as necessary.
2. Assist with 504, behavior/discipline conferences.
3. Assist with inservice training of school personnel.
4. Assist in supervision of student activities, assemblies, and extra-curricular activities.
5. Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance, and works with the secretary for investigative follow up actions.
6. Cooperates in the conducting of safety inspections and safety drill activities.
7. Serves with parent, facility, and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives.
8. Assists in the activities concerning graduation and awards programs.
9. Assists in the evaluation of certified personnel.
10. Keeps the secretary informed of their location at all times.
11. Is responsible for the school in the absence of the principal.
12. Performs such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal may from time to time assign.

EVALUATION:               

   Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Administrative Personnel.
