TITLE: Assistant Principal
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. A master’s degree in school administration.
- Minimum of three (3) years of acceptable teacher experience.
- Ability to work with people; knowledge of good instruction program; must possess good communication skills; consistent in relationship with teachers and students.
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB GOAL: To assist the principal in the direction and supervision of the various activities of the school and to perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body, and deals with special cases as necessary.
- Assist with 504, behavior/discipline conferences.
- Assist with inservice training of school personnel.
- Assist in supervision of student activities, assemblies, and extra-curricular activities.
- Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance, and works with the secretary for investigative follow up actions.
- Cooperates in the conducting of safety inspections and safety drill activities.
- Serves with parent, facility, and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives.
- Assists in the activities concerning graduation and awards programs.
- Assists in the evaluation of certified personnel.
- Keeps the secretary informed of their location at all times.
- Is responsible for the school in the absence of the principal.
- Performs such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal may from time to time assign.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Administrative Personnel.
